Absolutely the most common presentation in my clinic, anxiety is at an epidemic proportion and it doesn't have to be that way! I personally suffered anxiety for about 15 years. The severity varied from crippling, caged animal, pure panic attacks to an underlying constant current of worry about what MIGHT happen. After many years of learning the hard way and a process of elimination and education in human nutrition i discovered like many other conditions anxiety is a gut problem. HOW? very briefly, many neurotransmitters including serotonin are produced in the gut. The levels and quality of these neurotransmitters are a direct result of the bodies capacity to digest and function effectively. Mental health conditions, like many other conditions, also have an underlying systemic inflammation source which is ideally regulated by the liver and the gut. What does this mean then? Diet and lifestyle choices have a massive effect on your outlook, mental health and overall well-being. We are born to be happy and productive human beings.
