 Let's face it alcohol is unfortunately a big part of our culture.  We are all aware of the dangers and the damage it can cause to our health so why do we do it?  I can only speak for myself when I say it's time for myself to unwind, relax and socialise.  I have done more than my fair share of unwinding, relaxing and socialising and actually binge drank for many many years, destroying my body, gut lining, skin and who knows what else along the way.  I had 12 months without alcohol and realised I am able to have fun without it and those times with alcohol weren't actually living.  I now partake on occasion and my overall outlook on food, wine and cheer is 80/20.  If you are able to maintain a super healthy lifestyle ( organic home cooked foods, daily excercise and a work life balance) 80% of the time one can afford to enjoy some not so super healthy choices.  In regards to wine, there is an increasing organic selection in every liquor store.  Non organic wine contains harmful pesticides and  preservatives which is a large part of the problem and the hangover & by the way organic wine it tastes better.
